Discovering St. Ives: Where Art Meets the Atlantic
Perched on Cornwall's rugged coastline, St. Ives has also long captivated visitors with its unique blend of maritime charm and artistic heritage. This former fishing village, with its maze of narrow cobblestone streets and whitewashed cottages tumbling toward the harbor, has evolved into one of Britain's most celebrated art destinations.

Boating and Hiking on Lake Windermere from Ambleside
Despite a daunting forecast of 99% chance of rain, we embarked on our Lake District adventure today from Ambleside with raincoats stuffed in our backpacks and anticipation in our hearts. Our lovely accommodation, The Waterhead Inn in Ambleside, sits picture-perfect on the lakeside—a charming old hotel and restaurant. The Waterhead Inn in Ambleside, UK. The Village of Pai in Northern Thailand
Pai Today we travelled by minibus to Pai, a Bohemian village in northern Thailand. The road to Pai from Chiang Mai has 762 curves and takes about 3-1/2 hours to drive it. Pai has a population of about 6,000 but the number of tourists here easily doubles the population. There are many small businesses to meet the needs of tourists and new residents from all over the world—hotels and hostels, restaurants and cafes, massage and marijuana shops, 7/11 stores and bars, taxis and to

Visiting Karen Longneck Women Village in Northern Thailand
Lisa and I took a 2-mile hike this morning from our Pairadise Resort (not a misspelling on my part) to a small village known as Karen Longneck Women Village. Because it is so noisy and chaotic in Pai, we walked along a dusty dirt road in the countryside to enjoy the peaceful morning. Little did we know we would come across this unique place where the longneck women live! Signpost to Longneck Women Village in Pai, Thailand Welcome sign to Longneck Women Village in Pai, Thailan

Visit to Thailand: Chiang Mai
We bypassed Bangkok as several people told us it was way too crowded, noisy, polluted, and very chaotic. We settled into our hotel, a small boutique hotel with only 19 rooms, decorated with wonderful original artwork in the lobby, cafe, and lobby and in the rooms as well. Lantern shop with a variety of handmade and hand painted lanterns. Breakfast was amazing! Served in their small cafe near the greenhouse patio and their own private art gallery! My Impression of Taiwan
My impressions of Taiwan are based on only a 2-1/2 day visit. Taiwan has a population of 23 million people and is roughly the size of the state of Maryland. Taiwan was our “resting” stop after a 14 hr flight from San Francisco to. We found the airport unbelievably large, modern, and efficiently designed—easy to traverse through baggage claim, customs, and exit. I loved the art-filled walls throughout! View of the outskirts of Taipei City. Walking the downtown area we immediat
