Okay, so it’s a bit of a drive from Melbourne, but you’re wanting to get out of the house anyway and have something to do, right? Why not drive to New Smyrna Beach? Plenty to explore here—the historic downtown, the beaches, the museum at the Atlantic Center for the Arts, and of course, the group exhibition Endless Summer at Arts on Douglas Gallery.
You’re Invited to the Opening Reception
The Opening Reception is Saturday, August 7 from 4 to 7 pm. Endless Summer is their annual juried group show and my first showing here with two mixed-media paintings! Thirty artists are also in the show so it will be a fun time if you enjoy having a glass of wine while seeing high-quality original art, listening to live music, and meeting and talking with the artists. Shoes and shirts are required but guests who show up wearing their favorite summer attire—from beach chic to tacky tourists (just for fun) will get a 10% discount for purchases made at the opening.
Recommended Restaurants
Before and/or after the show, there are some wonderful restaurants where you can have lunch or dinner in New Smyrna Beach. I love Norwood’s Restaurant and Treehouse Bar located at 400 E 2nd Ave, New Smyrna Beach and the RiverPark Terrace at 302 S Riverside Dr, New Smyrna Beach. (Reservations suggested)
Your GPS Will Get You There Now for additional particulars: Endless Summer runs through August 28, 2021. Arts on Douglas is located at 123 Douglas Street, New Smyrna Beach, Fl and is open Tuesday through Friday 10 am to 5 pm and Saturday 10 am to 4 pm if you can’t make it to the opening of the exhibition. I can’t wait to see you there! Remember it’s Saturday, August 7 from 4 to 7 pm.
